Introducing Our New Companies Column

By Ron Jackson

April 2003 marked the one-year anniversary of the release of the .US extension to the general public.   There are so many innovative companies in the domain name industry we decided to expand this section to cover them.
By the end of 2002 most domain speculators  knew which of their fellow .US players held the marquee names for Americas official country code. Thats why a lot of eyebrows were raised a few months later when a guy name Zouzas popped up in the popular domain name forums claiming to hold such gems as movie.us, movies.us, entertainment.us, and pictures.us just to name a few.

As a result the Domain People section has been renamed People & Companies. We have published many in-depth company profiles with our Cover Stories, but this change will help us cover even more ground.

We are already at work on the first column for this space. It will feature a company (with roots in the domain industry) that has invented a new software program called WebOffice 2004 that we think will be of great interest to webmasters everywhere.

This Section is open to provide information on new arrivals and important personnel moves at domain industry companies. If your organization would like to announce the addition or promotion of a key team member, please send a release to [email protected].
