Track.com Laps the Competition with Six-Figure Sale That Tops This Week's Sales Chart

You'll be seeing double this week, but don't be alarmed. We were off last week, covering the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East conference in Hollywood, Florida (our complete show wrap-up will be published no later than Monday, Oct. 22) so there was no sales report last Tuesday night. To bring you completely back up to speed we have put together this new double-length report that includes all sales reported since our last column Oct. 2. All three of our weekly sales charts have been expanded from 20 to 40 positions to keep all of the top sales in the spotlight. 

As you have probably heard by now, Moniker.com sold over $8.1 million worth of domains in their live auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. last week. A silent auction is still going on and by the time it concludes Thursday (Oct. 18) there is a good chance the combined auction total will crack the 8-figure mark. You can see the complete results from the live auction here. As those domains are paid for and transferred to the new owners they will become eligible for our charts so we will soon be seeing a number of blockbusters, including Computer.com at $2.2 million on the Big Board.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves - there are hundreds of already completed sales to tell you about this week, the biggest being Track.com, a domain that sold for $100,000 at the GreatDomains auction site operated by Sedo.com. Seven of this week's top 20 domains sold at GreatDomains helping Sedo claim 11 positions on the top half of the chart and a remarkable 25 of 42 overall (there were two extra spots due to a tie for the final position). Their sales were registered at GreatDomains, at Sedo.com and in a joint online auction of premium .mobi domains staged by Sedo and the dotMobi registry. 

Sedo's roster included the biggest IDN (International Domain Name) sale reported this year, #2 ärzte.de ("medical profession" in German) at €56,000 ($79,309). That also ranks as the  third largest country code sale reported so far in 2007 (.de is Germany's ccTLD). Sedo completed a sweep of the first three positions with #3 FederalGrants.com going for $76,100 at GreatDomains.

SnapNames.com finally broke up the Sedo party with the $53,502 sale of #4 HotelManagement.com. That was one of three names SnapNames placed in the top ten. #6 Foros.com ("forums" in Spanish) also made a splash when that domain was acquired by Christopher Dent for $49,200 in a private sale. 

The AfternicDLS tends to concentrate on the moderately priced small to medium sized business market but that busy exchange also placed a half-dozen domains on the elite list, including #11 FL.org at $33,000. That .org was one of nine members of a Global Contenders' contingent that also included four .nets, three .mobis and a .info. #8 MortgageCalculator.net paced the GC pack, selling for $39,122 at Snapnames. Country Codes also made a strong showing with seven representatives on the all-extension chart, including Rugby.cn (China's ccTLD), sold by Andy Tran for $25,000 in a private sale. 

Here is how all of the top sellers stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, October 14:

.Com Supporting Cast

There was a huge supporting cast of strong four-figure .com sales this week. Sedo had the biggest of those with BingoUniversal.com at €6,700 ($9,489), PhotoModel.com at $9,200 and Vergetures.com at €6,300 ($8,922). The Sedo roster also included JPV.com and HonestyBox.com at $8,000 each and VistaDelSol.com at $7,500. 

Tracht.com tacked on €5,100 ($7,223), Libye.com landed $7,000 and RHY.com drew $6,001. VKN.com added $5,900 and Visited.com dropped in with $5,100. In two other sales from Sedo's GreatDomains auction site, SmallDogs.com wolfed down $6,200 and Cliente.com clicked for $5,100. 

The AfternicDLS piled up a mountain of sales over the past two weeks including WhatGives.com ($8,000), iGenie.com ($6,700) and NPCV.com ($6,128). BlackNight.com drew the curtain on $6,050 while UrbanOasis.com, iProfesional.com and TheChoiceIsYours.com yielded $6,000 each. AlternateHealth.com dispensed $5,600, FerretSupplies.com squirreled away $5,556 and OwnAHouse.com closed at $5,410.

A four-name logjam at $5,000 each included OrganizedLife.com, MaximTravel.com, LifeImage.com and ArtisticBeauty.com. DBar.com drew $4,688 and AsianGrocery.com deposited $4,600. The Afternic DLS had 156 more .com sales ranging fron $2,000-$4,500 that are listed in the table below.

The AfternicDLS also sold PublicLiabilityInsurance.com for $6,100 through a Sedo listing and they had over 500 more .com sales under $2,000.

Back at SnapNames, Beacons.com lit up $8,000, USCO.com clicked for $7,250 and StoreHosting.com hauled in $7,150. SmokedMeat.com chewed off $6,636, EnglishVillage.com welcomed $6,100 and GoVOIP.com went with $5,600. EuJet.com landed with $5,501 onboard, WeddingExpressions.com unwrapped $4,880 and Rott.com rang up $4,850.

InnocentDreams.com awoke to $4,500, VitaStore.com stocked $4,300 and GoldPan.com posted $4,298. YesRealty.com returned $4,205, NutHut.com cracked $3,945 and two others; Jaimie.com and AlbanyOregon.com attracted $3,900 apiece. SnapNames had 29 more .com sales ranging from $2,000 to $3,800 that you can check out in the table below.

Elsewhere, Moniker moved AffiliatesUnited.com for $5,000 and also sold AdultWebDesigner.com in a deal from their Internext auction that just closed this week. Yofie.com sold LoseInches.com for $4,600 and the buyer reportedly turned around and auctioned off the name for $10,000 (though the domain has not yet been transferred in the second sale). Also,  Enom's Club Drop eked out $3,400 for Mpace.com.

Global Contenders (.biz, .info, .mobi, .net & .org)

It was a good week for the Global Contenders as nine domains from this category made the all-extension leader board you saw earlier. The highest ranking GC name you haven't see yet is #10 Drive.net, sold for $8,100 at Moniker. .Net bagged 25 of the 40 entries on this week's expanded chart, easily outdistancing the other GC extensions.

However .Mobi more than held its own with three top ten entries, including #3 Rent.mobi at $21,000. .Org and .Info also put names in the first ten, while .biz made its first appearance at #15 with Kredit.biz at €3,750 ($5,310). That sale was made at Sedo, a venue that had a hand in 17 charted sales - a number that was matched by the AfternicDLS.
