SportingGoods.com Bowls Over the Competition to Reach Top Spot on the Weekly Domain Sales Chart

A huge wave of completed sales from last month's Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East auction were reported this week, prompting us to expand our Top 20 chart to 50 positions. SportingGoods.com fought its way through the crowded pack to reach the top spot at $450,000. That was one of 29 domains from the live/silent auction event that landed on the elite list.

A pair of .co.uk domains (Great Britain's ccTLD) more than held their own against the auction onslaught. In fact #2 Recycle.co.uk, sold for £150,000 ($309,901) to venture capital company ASAP Ventures, is the highest .co.uk sale ever reported. #4 Mobile.co.uk gave the British extension another blockbuster sale, going for £120,000 ($247,921) at Sedo.com. 

Sedo hit another ccTLD home run with #6 One.es at €87,000 ($128,947). That is the highest sale we have seen to date for Spain's .es country code. Sedo put a third name in the top ten with #9 NetID.com at $60,001 and they went on to chart 13 domains overall, the most of any everyday sales venue.

Three other sales sites claimed spots on the Big Board. The AfternicDLS posted a pair including #16 (tie) LuckyStar.com at $30,000. The-New-Dot.com scored with #14 PreventiveMedicine.com at $35,000 and NameJet.com attracted $31,600 for #15 VirginAirlines.com. 

37 of this week's 50 charted domains were .coms. There were seven names from the Global Contenders category (non .com global extensions) led by #12 (tie) Math.net, a name that sold in the Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East auction for $35,300. The country codes also hung in well with the big boys, grabbing a half-dozen entries on the leader board. Here is how all of the top sellers stacked up for the week ending Sunday, November 18:

There were five more five-figure sales just off the chart, led by NameJet's $10,100 sale of Synergie.com. The AfternicDLS added $10,000 with Adaptivity.com and three more names from the Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East auction also closed at $10,000; InsuranceLawyers.com, HomeLoanRates.com and HappyNewYears.com. 

.Com Supporting Cast

The Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East auction also had the highest four-figure sale among hundreds at that level across the industry this week. They sold Ilsa.com for $9,683, PraiseGod.com for $8,810 and DiscountPetSupply.com for $7,500. ChineseCheckers.com chipped in $6,500 and CigarBars.com lit up $6,000. 

There were 25 more auction sales ranging from just over $2,000 all the way up to $5,890. You can check those out in the table below:

At NameJet GospelStation.com tuned in $9,000, KASP.com kicked in $2,800, VideoMeetings.com connected for $2,700 and RugbyPlayers.com piled on $2,400.

Back at Sedo WXM.com went for $7,599, 069.com counted off $7,500 and iEnergies.com plugged in €5,000 ($7,411). WebBingo.com won $6,600, S3X.com drew $6,500 and Oneils.com delivered $5,302. Heed.com hauled in $5,100 and PPX.com paid $5,000.

The AfternicDLS had their usual stellar performance with more than 550 sales totaling over $800,000. Their list included more than 130 sales above $2,000 including FreeWebGraphics.com ($6,600), BabyScrapbooks.com ($5,997) and Leith.com ($5,700). Modulares.com marched off with $5,100 and four others; Savoir-Faire.com, RealEstateMart.com, LithiumEnergy.com and GreenShops.com earned $5,000 each. 

MyCraft.com knitted $4,900 while Nutrisoft.com and BreastCancerCare.com dispensed $4,500 each. Beim.com brought $4,488, FarmSales.com harvested $4,388, HospitalityCareer.com clocked in at $4,100 and EventPass.com provided $4,088.

The Afternic DLS had 97 more .com sales ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 that are listed in the table below.

At SnapNames.com this week, CheckNCash.com banked $6,177, MyCareerSite.com mapped out $3,900 and DeptLabor.com locked up $3,600. TourOfLasVegas.com booked $3,475, PornBB.com posted $3,438 and TennisAccessories.com took in $3,404. HamptonsWedding.com celebrated $3,100, TourOfSanDiego.com tallied $2,770 and Puffgams.com (typo) pulled $2,600. Wycieczki.com welcomed $2,500 and TourOfChicago.com tacked on $2,450.

Elsewhere, in a pair of private sales, IDN's Tarjetasdecrédito.com ("credit cards" in Spanish) and Tarjetadecrédito.com ("credit card" in Spanish) sold for $7,500 each. At Pool.com Progesive.com (typo) sold for $4,300 and NameAdvertising.com sold CourtoomLive.com for $4,000.

Global Contenders (.biz, .info, .mobi, .net & .org)

We expanded this week's Global Contenders chart from 20 to 30 positions to make room for all of those Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. completed auction sales that were reported this week. A  dozen names from that event made this list, including the top three and the first seven names on the GC chart made the all-extension leader board you saw earlier.

The top sale you haven't seen yet is #8 Guys.org, a name that went for $9,420 in the Moniker auction. Rounding out the top ten were PlanIt.net, sold on the AfternicDLS for $7,288 and FreeMovies.net, another auction name that commanded $7,060.

.Net dominated the chart, piling up 18 of 32 entries (there were two extra spots due to a four-way tie for the final position). .Org earned 5 spots on the leader board while .Info and .Mobi had four apiece. .Biz also scored with #24 Widgets.biz, sold at Sedo for $3,500.
