Quartet
of Six-Figure Sales and Flood of Completed Live Auction Sales Lead
Our Latest Chart
We were off ona rare vacation
last week but this new report will bring you completely up to date
on all of the notable domain sales that were reported since our last
column Oct. 15. We are expanding each of our three charts (the all
extension leader board, Global Contenders and Country Codes) from
their usual 20 positions to 40 to make room for the double dose of
data.
A flood of completed sales from last
month's Moniker
live auction at theT.R.A.F.F.I.C.
conference in New York were booked this week, including three
that hit the six-figure mark. Still another at that level,
sold via Sedo.com,
reached the top spot on the elite list. That was MoneyWatch.com,
a name that attracted a tidy $125,000 to beat all comers.
By
Ron Jackson
The marquee sales from the Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C.
list were Camps.com at $110,000 and two others; LT.com and Cleaning.com
that banked a cool $100,000 each. Still another
name from that auction, Searching.com, corralled the #5 spot
at $85,000. Completed Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. sales accounted
for 18 of the 40 positions on our expanded Big Board.
There was plenty of action at other venues
too. DNStrategy.com
docked at #6 with the $75,000 sale of HelpMe.com and SnapNames
secured lucky #7 with SpaResorts.com at $70,590.
Sedo
charted more domains than any other everyday venue, piling up nine
entries on the all extension Top 40. Their roster included four of
the six country code domains that crashed the usual .com
party. That group was led by #25 LiveChat.de (German ccTLD)
at 15,000 ($19,050). The ccTLD contingent also included a
pair of .me (Montenegro's ccTLD) domains that
were sold in the Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. auction - Buy.me
($17,500) and Loan.me ($15,000).
The non .com global extensions occupy five
rungs on the Top 40 ladder led by #11 US.org ($45,000) and
#14 CEO.info ($32,500), both of which were sold in the
Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. auction. In addition to all of their live
auction sales, Moniker moved five more names that qualified for the
chart through their everyday site, giving them a hand in more than
half of the charted sales (23 of 40 overall).
Here is how all of the top sellers stacked up for the
two week period ending Sunday, October 26:

Keep in mind that these are the highest
value sales that have been reported to us in the
past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool,
not a complete list documenting ALL high
value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce
because many sales are kept private at the insistence of
buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the
accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.
Forthe many newcomers entering the domain
industry we also want to point out that the reasons why a domain name sells for a certain price can be varied and are not always clear to those who are unfamiliar with the domain market.
If you do not understand why specific domain names command the
prices they do, you are likely to make unwise domain registrations or purchases.
We highly recommend that you do some basic research beforeyou buyanything! As a starting point we have
built a sister site specifically for you at NameNewbie.com.

Global Contenders
(.biz, .info, .mobi, .net & .org)
The Global Contenders turned in a solid week
with six names from this category reaching five figures (five of
them also qualified for the all extension leader board you saw at
the top of this report). The top sale you haven't seen yet is #7 Joke.net,
sold for $8,000 in the Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C. New York
auction. The .nets dominated this week's expanded GC chart,
sweeping 26 of the 40 positions.
The .orgs and .infos ran neck and
neck, claiming seven chart entries each. .Org had the top sale, US.org
at $45,000 and .info had the #2 name, CEO.info
at $32,500. The AfternicDLS, which traditionally does very
well in this category, dominated the race among venues, taking
almost half of the chart entries (19 of 40 overall).
Here's how all of the Global Contenders stacked up for the

Country Codes
Duplicating what the Global Contenders did,
the Country Codes also put a quintet of five-figure sales on
the all extension leader board you saw earlier and added a sixth
sale at that level that just missed making the Big Board (KRO.me
at $10,000). The top ccTLD sale you haven't seen yet is #7 GGG.nl
(Netherlands country code), a name that sold for 7,735
($9,823) at Sedo. Sedo went on to sweep 28 of the 40 entries in
our expanded Country Code chart.
The recently re-introduced .me extension
(representing Montenegro) had its best outing ever, claiming
11 chart positions including a pair that tied for #9; Play.me
and Watch.me at $7,500 each.
A wide variety of nations are represented on this
week's chart. If you are unfamiliar with any of the extensions, the
countries they represent can be found here.
Here is how all of the
country code top sellers stacked
