Blacklist.com Attracts a Lot of Greenbacks to Top This Week's Domain Sales Chart

After hitting the second half of last week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart with EnergyStock.com at $10,000, Bilal Kapadia is back with a much bigger sale this week. In fact this time he went straight to the head of the class with his $85,000 sale of Blacklist.com in a private transaction.

The runner up spot went to one of the biggest Italian ccTLD sales we've seen to date - one that is a great marriage between keyword and extension - Like.it at a cool $75,900. That was sold by a Bonn, Germany based domain registrar/brokerage Nidoma.com who specializes in Italian and Spanish (.es) domains. Nidoma placed a second .it domain in this week's top ten - #9 Green.it at $22,701.

A trio of .coms rounded out this week's first five. Michael Mann's DomainMarket.com used Sedo to sell Arwin.com for $60,000, Go Daddy/Afternic banked $55,000 for iAcademy.com and Michael Berkens's MostWantedDomains.com drew $33,000 with MakeSpace.com.

By Ron Jackson

The .coms went on to pile up 17 of the 20 chart entries with NoktaDomain's logging two of the bigger ones - #6 Valuations.com at $30,000 and #7 KonutKredisi.com at $27,900. Go Daddy/Afternic also had a second top ten entry (shared with Sedo) in #10 SPTV.com at $22,000 and they went in to pile up seven entries overall to lead all venues.

A third ccTLD - #17 Fitness Guru.de ($13,800 at Sedo) - earned a place on the Big Board but the non .com gTLDs were left out in the cold with no sales above four figures reported in that category.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, March 30:

This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Country Codes

The country codes continue to fire on all cylinders, hitting a new 2014 peak this week with nine five-figure sales, led by that big Like.it sale at $75,900. That ranks among the year's ten biggest sales to date in the ccTLD category.

You saw all of those five-figure sales in the all extension section above so the biggest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #10 on our latest weekly Country Code Top Sales Chart. That is another Italian domain sold by Nidoma.com - VideoGames.it at $9,660. Nidoma wound up with six chart entries overall, second only to Sedo's nine.

With all of those Nidoma sales, Italy's .it won the extension race with six chart entries, followed by Colombia's .co with four. Germany's .de and Great Britain's .co.uk had three apiece.

Here is how the country code sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, March 30:

Only three other sales breached $5,000 - #2 Maxipoint.net at $5,382 via Sedo and two names that tied for #3 at $5,000 each - Bulimia.net (via Go Daddy/Afternic) and We2.org (through Sedo).
