Hat Trick for Six-Figure Sales: Trio of High End Deals Lights Up This Week's Domain Sales Chart

After taking a break the previous week, high end buyers were back this past week to put three sales of $100,000 or more on our all extension leader board. Illustrious domain investor Garry Chernoff (whom Frank Schilling has credited as being one of his mentors) led the way, ringing up $110,000 for Scada.com in a deal brokered by DomainNameSales.com's Darryl Lopes.

Sedo took the next two spots on our Top 20 Sales Chart with #2 VitaminC.com ($104,000 in a transaction handled by Senior Broker Dave Evanson) and #3 Credits.com at $100,000. Sedo went on to pile up eight chart entries overall including six of the top ten.

Go Daddy/Afternic also had a strong outing, putting seven names on the elite list including #4 SteamEngine.com at $38,000. That helped the .coms sweep 18 of the 20 chart entries.

By Ron Jackson

The ccTLDs and the non .com gTLDs were limited to one spot each on the Big Board. However the ccTLD representative was a big one with NetFleet.com.au's $27,785 sale of Cloud.com.au landing in the first five. That's also the highest Australian country code sale reported so far this year.

The lone non .com gTLD name on the honor roll was #19 PJ.net, a name that Domains90210.com sold for $12,500. There was one other five-figure sale in this category outside the Top 20. Michael Silver sold Marketing.pro for $10,000 in a private transaction.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 18:

Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both.
