I Hear a Symphony! Symphony.com Leads This Week's Sales Chart at $375,000 & Mob.com Makes 6-Figure Music Too!

Two of the year's top 20 domain sales were reported this week with Symphony.com conducting the biggest transaction at a cool $375,000. AbdulBasit Makrani teamed up with  DomainNameSales.com to close that deal, one that, in addition to sitting at the pinnacle on this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart, ranks #11 on our Year to Date Top 100 Chart

In another heavyweight sale, Marcus Cent moved Mob.com for a muscular $220,000 in a deal that went through the 4.cn platform. Three more .coms rounded out the first five with Sedo selling #3 BigSale.com for $50,000, FindYourDomain.com fetching $42,500 for #4 AutoAssurance.com and Sedo banking another $38,000 for #5 1346.com.

While there were some excellent sales at the top of this week's leader board, there is also a gaping hole in this week's list (a hole that will remain for the next couple of months). As most of you have heard, Go Daddy recently filed to go public. That put them in the required "quiet period" that accompanies IPO filings. As a result they will not be putting out their usual sales reports combining completed transactions on their Go Daddy Auctions and Afternic platforms. Go Daddy/Afternic and Sedo have been the two largest sales venues who report their results each week, so the temporary absence of one of those two giants will leave all of us with a little bit cloudier view of what is happening in the domain aftermarket.

Even so, with the aftermarket continuing to rebound strongly after a long recession we will have plenty of notable sales to tell you about, including one of the year's top 20 non .com gTLD sales this week - a name that sits at #11 on the latest edition of the elite list. That is MH.net, a name that Domains90210.com sold for $15,260. In another charted sale from that category, Flippa.com sold #17 Matt.net for $11,501.

The ccTLDs did even better, filling four slots on the Big Board (all handled by Sedo), with #13 OnlineKasino.de heading that quartet after changing hands for $13,599.

Still there was no stopping the .coms. They swept the entire top ten and 14 of the 20 chart entries overall, including Hillcrest Media's $12,999 sale of #13 ChristianSelfPublishing.com.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, June 15:

Country Codes

The ccTLDs were led by the four five-figure sales you saw on the all extension leader board above. OnlineKasino.de took the top spot on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart with that $13,599 sale at Sedo.

The highest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is Sedo's $6,120 sale of #6 Jahreswagen24.de at $6,120. Another German domain was right behind with #7 MyMotel.de booking $5,290, also at Sedo, a venue that swept 18 of the 20 chart entries in the country code sector they have dominated for years.

DomainLore.co.uk filled one of the two spots Sedo missed, selling #8 Kites.co.uk for $5,070. Nidoma.com got the other one with #9 Recuperoanniscolastici.it  at $4,978.

Germany's .de easily won the extension race with eight chart entries. Great Britain's .co.uk was next with three. Here is how the country code sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, June 15:

There were more four-figure ccTLD sales off the chart led by Nidoma.com's $2,489 sale of IlContabile.it. They also picked up $1,020 for another Italian domain - AIT.it.

As always Sedo accounted for the bulk of the additional sales, scoring with Dekoratives.de at $2,448, Golfen.tv at $2,380 and Cookido.de at $2,285. Sedo had 19 more four-figure ccTLD sales ranging from $1,020 to $2,200 that are listed in the table below:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info, .pro, .mobi, .asia & others)

The non .com gTLDs were led by the two five-figure sales in this category that you saw earlier, with that duo fronted by MH.net at $15,260 via Domains90210.com. Sedo filled the next six spots on the leader board with a group led by #3 Bess.net at $5,000 and #4 Opzionibinarie.net at $3,600.

The absence of Go Daddy/Afternic (due to the Go Daddy IPO quiet period we talked about at the top of this report) was especially notable in this category. They often account for more than half of the sales on this chart because of the deep catalog of .net and .org domains in Afternic's inventory. In fact, with their results missing, only 18 sales were reported for the entire group.

The .nets easily won the extension race, piling up 11 of the 18 chart entries. The .orgs followed with four leaving one spot each for .info, .estate and .club. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, June 15:
