Buckley Media Group & BQDN Broker 6-Figure Sales in Impressive Week for Domain Aftermarket

It seems appropriate that Valentine's Day was one week ago considering how much love domain buyers showed for premium names over the past seven days. Two of them commanded six-figure prices including one that ranks as the 2nd biggest confirmed sale of the new year. That was a $335,000 sale of Inspection.com to AsiaInspection brokered by Kate Buckley (BuckleyMediaGroup.com).

Kate Buckley

Kate said, "My client, KATNAMES, and I agreed that the global Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) industry was our best bet. We had many conversations with top players in this multi-billion dollar industry,  all of whom had much to benefit from acquiring this global brand. It was soon clear to us that AsiaInspection had the most to gain from this acquisition—both offensively and defensively. Happily, they agreed.”

KATNAMES added, “We were thrilled that a worthy company in the TIC space capitalized on this

authoritative domain for its intrinsic category-defining value as well as its protective value. More importantly, it was a great upgrade for a company with roots in Asia, but now present in more than 50 countries. Despite many suitors, they were the best positioned to leverage this powerful domain.”

The sale continued a hot streak Ms. Buckley has been on for the past two years. She had two of the 20 biggest domain sales reported in 2016 and followed that up with three of the top 25 sales in 2017 (led by Refi.com at $500,000). With her latest blockbuster coming so early in 2018 she could be headed for her biggest year yet.

BQDN.com's James Booth also had reason to celebrate. He not only banked $100,000 for the #2 sale on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart - Jones.com - he put three more domains on the elite list with two of those joining Jones.com in the top ten. Booth absorbed $51,000 with #3 Sponge.com and wolfed down $23,000 more with #10 Fajita.com

Sedo had a hand in two sales that rounded out the first five, moving OCX.com and VideoDesign.com for $50,000 apiece. Sedo sold the latter name for Michael Mann's DomainMarket. Sedo and DomainMarket each had six more charted sales in addition to the one they collaborated on. Sedo's haul included #6 1MY.com at $39,600 while #7 Sambro.com at $30,000 helped fuel a big week for DomainMarket.

.Coms swept 15 of the 20 chart entries, including the first 11 in a row. The ccTLDs claimed four places with CatchTiger.com's $21,582 sale of #12 Biologisch.nl ("biological" in Dutch) setting the pace for the country code domains. That left just one spot for the non .com gTLDs that was filled by Sedo's $15,000 sale of #16 Stealth.org
