.Coms Sweep the First 11 Spots to Regain Control of the Top 20 Domain Sales Chart This Week

After seeing non .com domains take 6 of the first 12 entries on our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart last week, the .coms were firmly back in control this week, sweeping the first 11 spots on the leader board and 17 of 20 entries overall. The top spot on the elite list went to Michael Mann's DomainMarket.com where BetterFuture.com fetched $65,000.

The first four domains were all sold at different venues. GenieDomains.com used Afternic to nail down the $45,000 sale of #2  ViaOne.com (this one was closed last summer but just came to light this week). Sedo's first strike was a $20,000 sale of #3 Stelline.com and Nidoma.com booked the #4 sale of MTNCoin.com at $18,600. Sedo then caught fire and swept 13 of the 16 remaining places with a roster that included #5 Almall.com at $15,500.

The three spots the .coms did not claim were all ccTLDs. Nidoma sold two of those (both Italian domains) - #12 HSE.it at $9,300 and #17 (tie) Ristrutturare.it ("restructure" in Italian) at $7,440. AbdulBasit.com slipped #14 Sentinel.co in between those two at $8,888.

After piling up five chart entries last week, including the week's biggest sale (and the biggest new gTLD sale ever reported), the non .com gTLDs were shut out this week with no reported sales in that category going over $5,000. Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, April 15, 2018:

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. The highest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is #4 on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is Sedo's $6,758 sale of Ilmiotappeto.it

Sedo piled up 12 of the 20 chart entries including every spot on the second half of the leader board. Italy's .it scored an easy win in the extension race by taking six places on the elite list. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, April 15, 2018:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and others, including new gTLDs)

A week after the non .com gTLDs enjoyed what may have been their best week of the year, things slowed down dramatically this week with only nine sales reported for the entire category and none of those going over $5,000. A pair of sales at that number - both .orgs sold through Sedo - share the top spot on our latest weekly Non .Com gTLD Top Sales Chart. Those were Penta.org and SafetyShoes.org.

A pair of .nets sales, also from Sedo, followed - Diennea.net at $3,100 and Prospects.net at $2,900.
