$120,000 Domain Tops This Week's Sales Chart - Seller Had Acquired it for Just $21,000 Last Year

There aren't many assets that have the potential to produce the kind of eye-popping return on investment that a good domain can. Veteran domain investor/developer Peter Askew picked up CallTracking.com for $21,000 in May of last year. He developed the domain but the site didn't meet his expectations so Peter put the domain alone up for sale. It didn't take long for call tracking company CallRail.com to come along and recognize the value of the category defining domain to them. Askew wound up closing a $120,000 deal with them - a price that gives him the top spot on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart

Peter is a very interesting guy and I think you would really enjoy listening to a podcast interview Andrew Allemann did with him last December. Andrew has a link to the podcast as well as more details on the CallTracking.com sale at DomainNameWire.com.

The runner-up spot this week went to the year's biggest Australian ccTLD sale to date - CPA.com.au at $37,000 (AUD 50,000). The buyer, CPA Australia Ltd., got the domain in an expired name auction at Drop.com.au. Hat tip to domain attorney Erhan Karabardak at CooperMills for bringing this sale to my attention.

NameJet, who released all of their top July sales today, took the #3 spot on the Big Board with TajMahal.com at $29,999. Sedo then rounded out the first five with Haide.com at $18,000 and Schulter.ch (Swiss ccTLD) at $17,550. Sedo and NameJet went on to pile up eight chart entries each.

The .coms had their usual powerful outing, sweeping 15 of 20 entries overall. NameKart.com contributed to that onslaught with #18 InterWood.com at $7,250. The ccTLDs also had a good week taking four places on the elite list including DomainLore.co.uk's $8,966 sale of #13 Accessories.co.uk. That left just one spot for the non .com gTLDs that went to Sedo's $11,700 sale of #11 Biotech.asia
