Sedo Cooks Up One of Year's Five Biggest Sales to Date to Top This Week's Chart

I don't know how much time Sedo Senior Broker Dave Evanson spends in the kitchen but he has had an uncanny knack for cooking up high end domain sales over the past decade. The latest in a banquet table full of blockbusters came this week when Evanson closed the $402,500 sale of Cooking.com, a transaction that ranks as the 5th highest sale reported so far this year

To put that into perspective, the Cooking.com sale was higher than the other 19 sales on our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart put together. In fact, for 400K you could have bought them all and gotten back over $130,000 in change. That's a pretty nice addition to an already glowing resume.

The Cooking.com sale was just the first sign that Sedo was headed for a big week. They went on to sweep 16 of the 20 chart entries, including all of the first five and 8 of the top 10. Their haul included runners up Rapt.com and Tome.com at $25,000 each and #4 JazzYou.com at $24,888.

Like Sedo, the .coms dominated, piling up 18 of the 20 chart entries. AbdulBasit.com aided the .com cause with their $15,888 sale of #6 Primarius.com

By Ron Jackson

The only non .com sales on the Board are the week's biggest ccTLD sale, #7 Chess.tv at $15,000 via Uniregistry and Namoxy.com's sale of the week's highest ranking non .com gTLD, #20 Accessible.org at $9,000

Here's a look at how all of the sales leaders stacked for the week ending Sunday, May 19, 2019:

This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Country Codes

The ccTLDs were, of course, led by their lone sale on the all extension leader board you saw at the top of this report, Uniregistry's $15,000 sale of Chess.tv. The biggest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is #2 on our latest Country Code Top Sales Chart. That is Sedo's $7,560 sale of Maya.nl. They rounded out the first five with Zilingo.com.au at $7,059, Perfectos.fr at $5,600 and Cruise.us at $4,795.

Sedo went on to sweep 14 of the 16 chart entries. The only exceptions were #6 (tie) SIP.tv at $3,500 in a private sale and #16 ActiveWear.co.uk at $1,080 via DomainLore.co.uk.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and others, including new gTLDs)

Like the ccTLDs, the Non .com gTLDs were led by the only name they placed on the all extension Top 20 Chart at the top of this report. In their case, Namoxy.com's $9,000 sale of Accessible.org set the pace. The #2 domain on our latest weekly Non.com gTLD Top Sales Chart is NGFL.net at $8,888 in sale that AbdultBasit.com made via Sedo.

Rounding out the first five are Luxury.global, sold for $8,000 by the .GLOBAL Registry, and two more Sedo sales - Fox.bet at $7,839 and Spain.org at $7,500. .CLUB got into the act with #6 B2B.club at $6,959 through RU-Center and in another nice .org geodomain sale, Sedo moved #7 England.org for $6,500.
