Holiday Weekend in the U.S. Accompanied By Absence of Big Spenders in the Domain Aftermarket

One of America's biggest holidays - Labor Day - was celebrated on  Monday (September 2).  To mark the unofficial end of summer, a lot of  Americans turn the one-day holiday into a a three or four day weekend that, with many offices closed, is accompanied by a slowdown in business. While we still saw the usual solid mid-range sales, the big spenders were apparently pre-occupied with leisure activities. That left the door open for Uniregistry to take the top two spots on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart with Sadhu.com at $35,000 and MortgageAdvisors.com at $30,000.

Sedo filled the three-hole with the week's biggest non .com sale, banking $25,000 for Home.io, a ccTLD. That was one of four country code domains that earned places on the Big Board - all sold by Sedo who piled up 11 chart entries overall. Another one of their ccTLD sales reached the top half of the elite list with #10 Caliente.tv closing at $15,000

Everything else went to the .coms including the remaining spots in the first five. Those positions were filled by a pair of $23,000 sales, one made by Sedo for SXO.com and the other by Uniregistry for Umber.com. Michael Mann's DomainMarket.com also helped the .com cause with an $18,000 sale of #9 Lubio.com.

With no sales above $5,000 reported from the non .com gTLDs, there was no room at the Top 20 Inn for that category this week. Here's how all of the sales leaders stacked for the week ending Sunday, September 1, 2019:

The ccTLDs were, of course, led by the four entries they have on the all extension leader board above with Sedo's $25,000 sale of Home.io setting the pace. The biggest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #5 on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is Sedo's $5,709 sale of French domain Yaourt.fr.

Sedo went to sweep 18 of the 20 chart entries, including the first 18 in a row. The only exceptions to the Sedo rule were DomainLore.uk's sales of #19 VQ.uk at $1,845 and #20 UJ.com at $1,599

As they often do, Germany's .de won the extension race with five chart entries, followed by Great Britain's .uk with three  Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, September 1, 2019:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and others, including new gTLDs)

The Non .com gTLDs had a tie at the top. The .GLOBAL Registry's $5,000 sale of BTC.global (put together by Director for Premium Domains Mark Ghoriafi) and Uniregistry's sale of Datacom.net at the same price sit atop our latest weekly Non .Com gTLD Top Sales Chart. Sedo's $4,999 sale of #3 HMLA.org was just $1 behind.

Only ten sales were reported from this group this week with three of those going to .CLUB domains. That trio was led by a pair of names that sold for $2,000 each to tie for #8. One of those was GoDaddy's sale of Mentor.club. The other was Google's sale of Vote.club
