Six-Figure Sale of Glance.com Gives Sedo Top Spot on This Week's Sales Chart

A quick glance at our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart is all you need to see it was a big week for Sedo. In addition to topping the chart with an impressive $160,000 sale of Glance.com they went on to sweep four of the first five places on the elite list and 13 of 20 entries overall.

Uniregistry unleashed a lot of firepower too, claiming every remaining position on the honor roll - seven spots in all - with a roster led by #2 Hallow.com at $70,000.

The .coms scored another big win in the TLD battles, rolling up the first eight entries in a row. The non .coms finally broke through with a pair of non .com gTLDs that tied for #9 at $15,000 each. Those were a new gTLD sale of Diabetes.help made by Uniregistry and Sedo's sale of Impacted.org.

The ccTLDs weighed in with a trio of names on the second half of the Big Board, with Sedo accounting for all three of those. They first scored with a Spanish domain - #14 Actualidad.es at $10,900 - then added two Taiwanese domain sales - Cafe.tw and Movie.tw - that tied for #15 at $10,100 apiece.

Also this week, another notable historical sale came to light for the first time when George Kirikos (the master of uncovering hidden domain gems) found proof of a $120,000 sale of Reverb.com that was made all the way back in 2010. While the sale was almost a decade ago, the price didn't pop up until George found it in a recent SEC filing (referencing the transaction on pages 10 and 17). The filing itself only  surfaced because Etsy made it an exhibit in a filing of their own when they acquired the Reverb company last month for $275 million. Thanks to George's detective work we have been able to add Reverb.com to the 2010 Top 100 Sales Chart in our Domain Sales Archive where it is tied for #64.

Now back to the matter at hand - here's how all of the sales leaders stacked for the week ending Sunday, September 22, 2019:

The ccTLDs were, of course, led by that trio of five-figure sales that you saw all on the all extension leader board above with Actualidad.es setting the pace at $10,900. Sedo not only accounted for all three of those sales, they piled up 18 entries overall on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart, including the entire top ten.

Sedo rounded out the first five with Axito.de at $6,213 and Gee.com.au at $5,990. The only venues able to interrupt the Sedo run were Daaz.com where #14 Cognac.in sold for $3,127 and DomainLore.uk where #20 Better.uk brought $1,934.

Germany's .de scored an easy win in the extension race with seven chart entries. No other TLD had more than two. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, September 22, 2019:
