Carrot.com Sticks Six-Figure Landing to Take Top Spot on This Week's Domain Sales Chart

The race for the the top spot on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart was a runaway. As we detailed in an article in our Lowdown section Monday (Sept. 30, 2019), Name Ninja's Bill Sweetman closed a $565,000 sale of Carrot.com that, in addition to topping this week's chart, ranks as one of the ten biggest sales reported so far this year. The buyer was a popular SaaS firm named Carrot that upgraded from the previous domain they were using -  OnCarrot.com.

.Coms swept the first five five positions on this week's leader board (and 17 of 20 places overall). NameJet (who released all of their September sales today) filled the runner-up slot with Kura.com at $68,495 and also took #5 with LWM.com at $28,009. Uniregistry filled the #3 hole with Litres.com at $37,500 and Sedo secured #4 with Upgrades.com at $32,000.

The ccTLDs took all three positions that did not go to the .coms. Sedo's $25,000 sale of #6 Scalable.co led the country code trio. Sedo also added #14 Payment.co to the mix at €12,875 ($14,163) with Uniregistry rounding out the threesome with #16 HP.ai at $13,000.

By Ron Jackson

That left the non .com gTLDs on the outside looking in. It took at least $12,000 to place this time around the track and the highest sale reported from that group was NameJet's $8,600 sale of Images.org.

Here's how all of the sales leaders stacked for the week ending Sunday, September 29, 2019:

In addition to the threesome on the Big Board the country codes produced two more five-figure sales that round out the first five on our  latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. Those are #4 Perfectos.nl - sold for $11,000 at Uniregistry - and #5 Binge.co - $10,000 at Sedo.

Sedo went on to sweep 16 of the 20 chart entries, including #6 Ingeneron.de at $8,140. In addition to Uniregistry, the other exceptions to the Sedo rule were Rupii.com's $7,000 sale of Cloud.com.ag and DomainLore.uk's $3,321 sale of #15 ET.uk.

Germany's .de scored another win in the extension race with six chart entries. Colombia's .co was next with four. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, September 29, 2019:
