3-Letter .Coms Dominate Again With Sweep of Top Three Positions on Latest DNJ Sales Chart

In our last report I told you about 3-letter .coms starting to re-claim positions on the top half of our sales charts that have been  more often going to one-word domains in recent years. That observation came from 3-letter .coms taking three of the top six spots on our previous chart. This week the 3L group raised the volume, sweeping all of the top three spots and doing it with sales that all hit six figures (last time out, none of the 3-letter domains in the spotlight reached that level).

Each of the new marquee sales was posted by a veteran broker or investor with many blockbuster sales on their resume. This time Larry Fischer at GetYourDomain.com led the charge with a $300,000 sale of

OET.com. Kate Buckley from Buckley Media hit the next one out of the park, brokering a $206,850 deal for GBR.com. Greg Ricks at PerfectName.com completed the trifecta with a $200,000 sale of YAE.com from his own portfolio.

As they say on late night, "but wait - there's more!" In this case, the additional fireworks came from .XYZ Queen Swetha Yenugula (Swetha.xyz) who put five names on Big Board including a six-figure sale of her own - #4 SportsBet.xyz at $103,910. Swetha's quintet, coupled with a pair of sales at Sedo - #18 Defi.market at $12,888 and  #20 OpenLinkProfiler.org at $12,624, gave the non .com gTLDs seven places on the honor roll (within hailing distance of .com's nine).

The ccTLDs also had a good outing, claiming four spots on the elite list. James Booth at Booth.com posted the highest country code sale with #7 (tie) Noah.me at $35,000. Sedo added two more, including the next highest in this group with #12 Marathon.de at $21,400. The ccTLDs also got a boost from the $16,850 sale of Loca.ca in a private transaction.

 Country Codes

The ccTLDs piled up a nice group of eight five-figure sales this time around the track with Booth.com's $35,000 sale of Noah.me leading the pack on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. In the meantime, Sedo continued their usual dominance of this category, sweeping 18 of the 23 chart entries (the extra spots resulted from a four-way tie for the final position) with  #2 Marathon.de leading the Sedo roster at $21,400.

We posted all of the five-figure sales in the all extension section above so the biggest sales in this group that you haven't seen yet are two that complete the top ten - Sedo's $9,000 sale of MountHope.ca and Dynadot's $8,800 sale of Tykes.io.

As is so often the case, Germany's .de won the extension race with eight chart entries. No other TLD had more than two. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, May 22, 2022:
