ccTLDs & Non .Com gTLDs Post Some of Their Best Sales YTD But 6-Figure Sales Are MIA

Domain sales reported since our last update were a mixed bag. Overall prices were lower than we usually see with no reported sales above $40,000. On the other hand, we did see three of the ten biggest ccTLD sales reported year to date as well as two of the ten biggest non .com gTLD sales. The .coms still managed to claim three of the top four spots on our latest bi-weekly all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart, including chart topper Crypto88.com at $38,000 and #2 Bouncy.com at $36,000. Sedo rang up both of those sales as well as #3 Abode.org at $35,000. The other .com in the first four was a $34,600 sale of LandSurvey.com via DAN.com.

The ccTLDs took three spots on the top half of the leader board - all Dutch domains sold through BusinessForSale.eu. They moved #5 Hout.nl ("wood" in Dutch) for $33,000 and added $27,500 each for two names that tied for #8 - Belegging.nl ("invest" in Dutch) and Beleggingen.nl ("investments" in Dutch). BusinessForSale.eu is a well established European brokerage that has concentrated on selling online businesses, but over the past few weeks they have expanded into sales of undeveloped domain names with promising early results. Those three sales also rank among the top ten country code sales year to date (2nd chart on the page linked to).

#7 HyperChain.org, sold for $29,888 at Sedo, giving the non .com gTLDs a second top ten entry on both the latest bi-weekly chart below and that category's YTD Top Sales Chart (3rd chart on the page linked to). Adobe.org and HyperChain.org now rank #3 and #4 on the 2023 non .com gTLD list.

SnapNames and NameJet haven't released their monthly top sales yet, leaving the door open for Sedo (who reports weekly) to sweep almost all of the .com entries. One of the few exceptions was Dynadot's $22,411 sale of #17 Mads.com.

Here is how all of the leaders stacked up for the period ending Sunday, April 30, 2023:
