Domain Sales Surge Continues With 7 Six-Figure Sales and a Multi-Million Dollar Deal for Phoenix.com

The hits just kept on coming in the domain aftermarket over the past two weeks. Unfortunately we can't chart the biggest one - a sale of Phoenix.com - because the exact price has not yet been revealed. However, we did get a ballpark figure from Jack Dai at DN.com who hinted that the sale would rank among the three largest publicly reported sales year to date. Jack is in a position to know as his company worked with Grit Brokerage to close the deal. As of this writing, the top 3 sales YTD range from just over $2.1 million up to the $12 million paid for Icon.com. That covers a lot of ground but touching down anywhere in that landing zone would be worth celebrating.

Having that one under an apparent NDA left the door open for Sedo's "Mr. Premum" Mark Ghoriafi to claim the top spot on our latest all-extension Top 20 Sales Chart. Mark did it with Law.ai at $350,000 in a sale we we first told you about in our Lowdown section when we broke the news just a day after our last bi-weekly report was published. With this sale, Mark has now accounted for four of the Top 20 sales reported so far in 2025 (a quartet led by his $980,000 sale of Double.com in March).

That is the first of 7 six-figure sales on the latest honor roll, including two more from Sedo - #3 Haggle.com at $150,000 and #7 Signable.com at $101,250. They had plenty of company in the Six-Figure VIP Lounge with Canavas Media, Mike Mann (DomainMarket.com), Namecheap and, in a separate sale, their new Spaceship platform, all joining the party.

In our last report, when 19 of the 20 chart entries went to either .com or .ai domains, I talked about how those two TLDs  have been dominating the high end of the market. Not much changed this time around the track with with the dynamic duo sweeping 18 of the 20 positions (12 coming from .com and 6 from .ai). The .com roster added some extra muscle thanks to industry pioneer Mike Mann sending me a list of his recent sales (a group topped by #4 (tie) Finanta.com at $125,000 - one of four charted sales from his DomainMarket.com). On the .ai side, Law.ai got solid backup led by Spaceship's $118,000 sale of Demand.ai.

The only two TLDs able to short circuit a complete .com/.ai monopoly were a $64,888 sale of #9 Thoughtful.xyz that Swetha.xyz made through Afternic, and Sedo's $24,057 sale of #20 Kinogo.club.

Thanks to a report from Elliot Silver at DomainInvesting.com, we also learned about a sizeable historical sale made in 2021 when Kyte.com changed hands for $550,000. As a result we have added that sale to the 2021 Top 100 Sales Chart in our Domain Sales Archive where it moves into a tie for the #28 position.

Here is how all of the leaders stacked up for the three weeks ending Sunday, August 24, 2025

Country Codes

As we've come to expect, .ai again dominated the ccTLD category, sweeping the first five spots on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart with Mark Ghoriafi's $350,000 sale of Law.ai for Sedo towering over the leader board. However, many other TLDs surfaced after that including two top 10 entries each for .co.uk and .io. The British domains are #7 Oasis.co.uk ($20,477 at DomainLore.uk) and #8 (tie) AIonAuto.co.uk ($20,000 at Dynadot). The .io representatives are #8 (tie) Freckle.io at $20,000 through Afternic and #10 Streak.io at $15,000 via Sedo.

Two other extensions also claimed multiple chart entries, .us - with Meet.us at $12,000 and Workday.us at $9,200 (both through Sedo) and .co - with Chargeback.co at $9,500 and Fabled.co at $5,451, also through Sedo.
