A 7-Figure Domain Sale and a Half Dozen That Rang the 6-Figure Bell (Including Five From .AI) Lit Up Our Latest Sales Chart

Now that autumn is here, outdoor temperatures are starting to drop but it's still blazing hot in the domain aftermarket. Braden Pollock at LegalBrandMarketing.com set the pace on our latest bi-weekly all-extension Top 20 Sales Chart with of the one of the five biggest publicly reported sales of the year to date - Mogul.com at an eye popping $1.3 million. The domain was purchased by a fast growing fractionalized real estate investment platform that had been operating from Mogul.club. This is just the latest example of a scenario we see playing out over and over. A company starts out on an affordable non .com TLD but, if they gain enough traction, their first move is to acquire the .com for the undeniable credibility boost that comes with it. That factor alone can be the key to taking a growing business to an entirely new level.

The other big story line this week is the continuing high end demand for .ai domains as they took the next four spots on the leader board and wound up sweeping 13 of 20 entries overall. As is often the case, that resulted from a release of sales made over several weeks that was announced on X.com by Spaceship Founder & CEO Rick Kirkendall. The .ai gang was led by a $375,000 sale of Act.ai, the 4th biggest .ai sale reported year to date. Five of the newly charted .ai sales reached six figures as did #6 (tie) Decided.com after selling through DomainName.com for $100,000.

.AI is technically a ccTLD but it's not the only TLD from that category that is attracting serious buyers. Three others, .de, .co and .gg all earned spots on the Big Board. Sedo accounted for two of those, #14 EisHockey-Magazin.de at $42,560 and #16 Revive.co at $35,000. Adam Maysonet booked another after moving #17 Nano.gg at $30,000 through Afternic.

There are a couple of other major transactions to note. As you know, Lease to Own deals have become extremely popular. They have been great for the industry as they've made it possible for more buyers to acquire their dream domain over time. While we can't chart LTO sales until the domains have been fully paid for and transferred to the new owner, some are immediately noteworthy. George Kirikos at FreeSpeech.com reported one he uncovered that has Doc.com changing hands for $4.85 million, spread across five payments. Read George's post for a fascinating breakdown of the numbers, including his calculation showing that the deal is nearing completion.

Another transaction is making big waves even though the sales price was not revealed. Shopify acquired Shop.com with some, including MediaOptions Founder Andrew Rosener, believing that the price was around $100 million - and this is for the domain only. George Kirikos thinks it could have been even more and in another very illuminating post from him, George laid out the numbers that would justify an even bigger price tag.

In another deal of note despite an NDA, the Castello Brothers, Michael and David,  have sold one of the world's great geodomains, Nashville.com, in a deal handled by super broker Andrew Miller. The potential for that domain is off the charts and it has always been one of my favorites in Michael and David's amazing CCIN portfolio.

Now, back to the immediate business at hand - here is how all of the leaders lined up  for the two weeks ending Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026:

Country Codes

Our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart is all about .ai, with the white hot TLD sweeping the entire top ten and 13 spots overall. Those all came from the new sales list from Spaceship that we noted at the beginning of this report. Act.ai at $375,000 and a pair of $150,000 sales - Critical.ai and Pad.ai - led the charge.

The .ai run went uninterrupted until the #12 spot where Sedo's $42,560 sale of EisHockey-Magazin.de put up a road block. Sedo went on to add three more entries to second ten.

Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026:

Non .com gTLDs

The non .com gTDs seemed to sit this cycle out with no sales reported above four figures. That left the door open for Sedo's $9,999 sale of Gamble.guru to claim the lead position on our latest Non. com gTLD Top Sales Chart. Sedo went on to sweep the first five spots and nine of the top 10.

There were only two exceptions to the Sedo rule. One was Adam Maysonet's $4,995 sale of #6 TimeMachine.app thru Afternic and Atom's $2,888 sale of #13 NeoMarketing.net.
