Russian Girls Reign Over This Week's Sales Chart After the .Com Attracts Six Figures at DomainNameSales

After just a one-week absence the six-figure sale returned this week with RussianGirls.com doing the honors. That domain sold for $120,000 at DomainNameSales.com (DNS), a venue that swept the first three places on this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart.

DNS nailed down the #2 slot with MBusiness.com at $45,000 then completed the trifecta with #3 Tyme.com at $40,000. DNS went on to pile up nine chart entries overall.

Sedo rounded out the first five with #4 MKT.com at $35,000 and #5 Mapa.com at $32,000. Sedo claimed five places on the elite list overall.

Afternic also had a big week with four chart entries led by #8 StarShape.com at $23,000. The bigger news from Afternic was what they couldn't report. They said they closed a sale of over $500,000 that could not be revealed due to a non-disclosure agreement.

By Ron Jackson

Chart honors also went to NameJet.com for #6 SportsPicks.com at $25,666 and to DomainNames.ca for #9 Helicopters.ca at $22,666 (US). The SportsPicks.com sale was reported for the first time Monday when Steven Newman let us know that was what he paid to get the domain for a new sports handicapping site we wrote about in our Lowdown section.

That Helicopters.ca sale (made by Irex Corp.) was one of two ccTLD transactions to qualify for the Big Board. The other was Sedo's $15,000 sale of #13 (tie) OpenEnglish.ru (a Russian country code domain).

The .coms swept everything else, steamrolling their way to 18 of 20 chart entries. The non .com gTLDs were shut out this week with no five-figure sales reported in that category.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, August 18:
