The 3-Letter .Com Beat Goes On - They Bag 11 of the Top 20 Spots on Our Latest Sales Chart

I'm back from a vacation break and little has changed on the domain sales front since I left - 3-letter .coms are still ruling the roost. 11 of the top 20 sales on our latest all extension chart are 3-letter .coms including five of the top seven entries.

This column will bring you completely up to date on all of the sales reported since my last column two weeks ago. We're also expanding the all extension leader board from the usual 20 positions to 40 to accommodate the double dose of data. (One other note -  I just got back Wednesday, so  this column was pushed back to a Friday night release. Next week we will be back on the usual Wednesday evening release schedule).

Now let's get down to business - and there is a lot of it to cover. It starts with another big sale from broker Tracy Fogarty at eNaming.com. She took the top spot on the leader board by closing a $140,000 deal for 95.net. That is the biggest non .com gTLD sale reported so far this year and also one of the year's 25 biggest sales regardless of category.

By Ron Jackson

The 3-letter .coms then began their run with a quartet of sales from broker George Hong of Guta.com, including #2 YYB.com at $68,000 and three others from him that were part of a five-name logjam tied for the # 3 position. Those were MFF.com, YFF.com and YYH.com at $50,000 each

Sedo notched yet another at the same price with NBT.com. Michael Berkens's MostWantedDomains.com joined the party at the #3 position with TheStores.com at $50,000. MWD went on to put three more names on the chart, including two on the top half of the elite list - #11 GetStuffDone.com at $40,000 and #14 BeFirm.com at $35,000. Guta.com also added two more to the first 20 - both of those 3-letter.coms - with #9 YYM.com going for $47,000 and #12 YCY.com collecting $37,000.

NameJet contributed three domains to the 3-letter .com rout with VEO.com ($36,000), EXX.com ($30,000) and KEO.com ($25,000). All landed on the top half of the Big Board and they helped NameJet pile up 13 chart entries overall.

With the 3-letter .coms running amok (also aided by Flippa's $17,000 sale of PWU.com) the .coms swept 37 of the 40 chart entries. In addition to 95.net, the only exceptions were #20 (tie) Commercial.property at $25,000 via DomainNameSales.com in the biggest new gTLD sale reported so far this year and Sedo's $20,000 sale of #23 (tie) A5.net.

Here is how all of the sales leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, June 7:

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Our procedure for verifying the accuracy of domain sales reports is available here.

Country Codes

It was an odd couple of weeks for the ccTLDS in that only one five-figure sale was reported in a category that usually has several every week. That left the door open for Roasted.de to take the top spot on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart with a $10,043 sale at Sedo who swept the first five chart entries (and 14 of 20 places overall).

Sedo's hit list included #2 Investigazioni.it at $9,040 and #3 Optimize.me at $8,000. Book.cc ($7,956) and FussballNews.de ($7,910) rounded out the first five. NameJet finally interrupted the Sedo run with #6 JZ.tv at $6,800. Between the two of them, Sedo or NameJet filled every chart position except #18, taken by InformationStart.nl with their $4,315 sale of DubaiHotel.nl

.TV won a tight extension race nipping Germany's .de  five chart entries to four. Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, June 7:
