Short .Coms Continue Chart Dominance - 11 of Week's 12 Biggest Sales Were 3 Letters or Less

Less continues to be more in the domain aftermarket - the fewer letters in a name the higher the price tag goes. That was more evident that ever over the past two weeks with a 2-letter .com topping our chart at nearly $700,000 and nine 3-letter .coms among the 12 biggest sales. The lone non .com in the first dozen was also ultra-short - that being a two-letter .net (I was away covering THE Domain Conference in Fort Lauderdale last week so this week's report will fill you in on the past two week's worth of sales). 

GJ.com led the charge of the short brigade with a blockbuster $694,095 sale at NameJet that also ranks as the 6th biggest sale reported so far this year. A pair of 3-letter .coms filled the next two spots on our latest weekly all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. #2 QJS.com was sold for $150,000 by Michael Berkens's MostWantedDomains.com and KuwaitNEt.net moved #3 CXL.com for $65,000. 

The next spot went to the only name in the first 12 longer than 3 letters. That was #4 PassItOn.com, a name that Sedo sold for $64,000. MostWantedDomains filled out the first five with another 3-letter .com - WQB.com at $56,000.

Six of the next seven spots also went to 3-letter .coms - the only exception being #9 YA.net, a name that IndusDomains sold for $35,000. That pack of 3-letter .coms included #7 KQT.com, a domain that Braden Pollock of LegalBrandMarketing sold for $40,000 after acquiring the name for just $11,000 in the NamesCon conference auction last January. 

The .coms wound up sweeping 19 of the 22 chart entries, the extra spots resulted from a three-way tie for the final opening. That closing trio included a name that George Kirikos found in an SEC filing - #20 (tie) CloudCommerce.com at $20,000. 

The only non .coms on the Big Board, other than YA.net, were a pair of ccTLD sales at Sedo. Both of those were German domains - #17 J.de (the shortest name on the elite list) at $24,640 and #19 Pionier.de at $21,840.

There were more than two dozen additional five-figure sales off the chart led by NameJet's $17,410 sale of UWY.com. They added $16,200 for Westland.com, $15,525 for 59977.com and $15,300 for EarthTech.com. 

Also at NameJet, QVA.com commanded $15,200, Caiqi.com contributed $13,020 and BioScan.com brought $12,999. Gute.com grossed $11,110, Institutes.com drew $10,500, RW.org earned $10,099 and Zhanchang.com chalked up $10,019.

Back at Sedo, Abag.com banked $16,800, Personal.eu posted $16,744 and Linktop.com landed $16,000. Reward.net returned $14,800, Aftermaster.com made $14,000 and Sissa.com sold for $13,441. BattleAngel.com and Shibusa.com booked $12,000 each while three others - Bookings.ae, Furets.com and Unimedia.com - yielded $11,200 apiece. 47000.com kicked in $11,000 while Dema.com, Jell.com and Odd.tv tuned in $10,000 each.

.Com Supporting Cast

Sedo led the .Com Supporting Cast of four-figure sales with CEOConsultant.com at $9,679. 16WeeksPregnant.com gave birth to $8,800, Refy.com fetched $8,000 and SHGR.com clicked for $7,950. EuroVoucher.com and Ezzi.com added $7,500 apiece while XPlanet.com extracted $7,333. 

LoanCircle.com secured $6,589 while Tepui.com and TheVeneer.com cornered $6,500 each. 18N.com notched $6,419 and UP8.com drew $6,079. Sedo had 137 more four-figure sales ranging from $2,000 to $6,000 that are listed in the table below:

LZLZ.com commanded $6,600, WorldPages.com turned $6,201 and LimeGreen.com squeezed $6,100. Two others - 84678.com and PMSC.com kicked in $6,000 apiece. NameJet had 68 more four-figure .com sales ranging from $2,000 to $5,750 that are listed in the table below:

At SnapNames.com 552266.com corralled $5,810, 661133.com called in $5,770 and an IDN - Växjö.com - cleared $4,600. HomeHarvest.com hauled in $3,756, Ecpic.com provided $3,610 and 682666.com collected $3,270. Ocha.com coaxed $2,610, 2222.com counted out $2,500, Adgency.com closed at $2,350 and PreModernism.com produced $2,000. 

Elsewhere, PublicDomains.com sold Injure.com for $5,000 and David Myre moved BeverlyHillsCondos.com for $2,500 in a private transaction. 

Country Codes

The ccTLDs were led by those two big .de sales you saw on the all extension chart above. The next three domains on our latest  Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart also reached five figures with #3 Personal.eu pulling $16,744, #4 Bookings.ae adding $11,200 and #5 Odd.tv tallying $10,000. Sedo accounted for all of those sales and went on to sweep 19 of the 20 chart entries.

The only spot that eluded Sedo's grasp was #19 (tie) Hack.co, a name that NameJet sold for $3,500. Sedo barely missed a sixth five-figure sale as #6 Luft.ch came in at $9,985. 

Germany's .de easily won the extension race piling up ten chart entries. The only other TLDs with more than one were .tv and .co. Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Oct. 4:

Golem.eu gained $3,023 with Athos.ch. Creata.eu added $1,680 while PromoBox.eu and TheMountain.eu yielded $1,119 each. Elsewhere Park.io sold Adventure.io for $2,000, Enzyme.io for $1,500 and Slam.io for $1,000 while DomainLore.co.uk collected $1,301 for SEF.co.uk.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

The Non .Com gTLDs were led by a trio of five-figure sales - two of which were two-letter domains. YA.net leads our latest Non .Com gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart with that $35,000 sale at IndusDomains you saw on the all extension leader board earlier. That is also one of the year's ten biggest sales to date in this category. Sedo's $14,800 sale of Reward.net took the #2 slot while NameJet filled the 3-hole with RW.org at $10,099. 

Rounding out the first five were Sedo's $9,000 sale of ETQ.net and NameJet's $6,600 sale of Cloud.xyz. .CLUB had a big presence this week with nine chart entries including #6 Mobi.club at $5,600 via RU-Center.

While .CLUB won the extension race it was still close as the .nets finished just two spots behind with seven charted sales. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Oct. 4:

Also at Sedo, Entrepreneur.beer poured $2,500, ISPN.org posted $2,499 and Trusted.company captured $2,016. Sedo had 17 more four-figure non .com gTLD sales ranging from $1,000 to $1,980 that are listed in the table below:

Elsewhere, SnapNames sold PreModernism.net for $2,000.
