Short Domains Rule This Week's Sales Chart - A 6-Figure Numeric Domain and Eleven 3-Letter .Coms Lead Way

Short .coms were back in the saddle this week in a dominating performance that shut out every other extension on our latest weekly Top 20 Sales Chart. Only four of the 20 chart entries was longer than four characters. NameJet led the assault with 746.com at $121,000 and went on to sweep all but one chart position after releasing all of their April sales at once.

Their chart topping ledger included eleven 3-letter .coms, including four that rounded out the top five - a quartet led by #2 FDP.com at $50,250. NameJet also put four 4-digit numeric domains on the leader board with #12 2153.com leading that group at $22,456.

Sedo prevented NameJet from running the table with their sale of #8 (tie) Mycite.com at $30,000. Two of the three other names that were longer than four characters made the top ten with NameJet placing Nachos.com at #6 at $33,000 sale and Emigration.com at #7 at $30,400.

 The .com romp left the non .com gTLDs and the ccTLDs on the outside looking in, though the country codes did have a couple of five-figure sales off the chart with Sedo moving eCigarette.co.uik at $14,500 and Homify.ca at $11,500. No five-figure sales were reported in the non .com gTLD category where the top sale was Poem.org at $8,000 via NameJet.

There were 14 more five-figure sales off the chart led by the $17,500 sale of ThePalmBeaches.com by WorldReach Domains.

NameJet rang up six more at this level including CashQuick.com ($16,150), 3041.com ($14,600) and 71234.com ($14,110). 668666.com commanded $10,300 while Yinsi.com yielded $10,100 and PJ5555.com fetched $10,010.

Back at Sedo, CyberPolicy.com secured $16,000 while two others - Nasaco.com and eCigarette.co.uk -  inhaled $14,500 each. BeyondLimits.com banked $12,000 while Homify.ca and Kaffe.com kicked in $11,500 apiece. PrescriptionOnly.com added $10,000. 

.Com Supporting Cast

Snapnames led the .Com Supporting Cast of four-figure sales with WWWatt.com at $9,256. They also picked up $3,000 for Teil.com, $2,805 for 44533.com and $2,801 for Langdong.com. BethesdaMinistries.com booked $2,400, SNCS.com sold for $2,167 and 8Cube.com collected $2,000. 

Back at NameJet, YTYT.com sold for $8,988 and OrthopedicSurgery.com went for $8,900. Spielberg.com and FunnyPets.com posted $7,600 each while Doukan.com drew $7,110.

ZKZK.com kicked in $6,588, 93355.com found $6,200 and Richan.com rang up $5,710. WKWK.com captured $5,500, HG218.com clicked for $5,411 and ChangeYourLife.com chalked up $5,400. HEBU.com corralled $5,318, Creel.com crested at $5,227 and Modula.com made $5,100.

At Sedo the hit parade continued with Clickmall.com at $8,000, NextJournal.com at $7,500 and Toner24.com at $6,900. MegaOffers.com attracted $6,500, Jharkhand.com coasted to $6,111 and DigitalMass.com managed $5,830. MaxFashions.com collared $5,175 while LeapApps.com and Teevr.com tallied $5,000 apiece.

Country Codes

As we noted above the ccTLDs were led by a pair of five-figure sales at Sedo - eCigarette.co.uk at $14,500 and Homify.ca at $11,500. The highest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #3 on our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is Territory.de at $9,580, also via Sedo.

Sedo went on to sweep 19 of the 20 chart entries as they filled out the first five with Jackpot.fr at $8,750 and Ambiente.co.uk at $8,614. Golem.eu stopped Sedo from pitching a shutout by claiming the #18 spot with IVEA.eu at $2,736.

The extension race wound up in a tie between Great Britain's .co.uk and Germany's .de as those TLDs each filled five chart positions. lHere is how the country code leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 1, 2016:

There were a half-dozen more four-figure sales off the chart led by three Sedo sales - BritishAirports.co.uk, Doberman.co and Obiturarios.mx - at $2,000 apiece. Golem.eu moved two others - VanHaren.de ($1,724) and Collis.eu ($1,149) and DomainLore.co.uk added one with GPH.co.uk at $1,379.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

After a big week last week it was slower going for the  non .com gTLDs this time out with no reported sales reaching five figures. That allowed NameJet to tale the top spot on our latest Non .com gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart with Poem.org at $8,000. 

NameJet went on to sweep 19 of the 21 chart entries (the extra spot resulting from a tie for the final position), including four of the top five. Their haul included the runner-up slot with IE.org at $6,400. Sedo took the two places NameJet didn't, including #3 Spring.xyz at $6,000 and #7 GICU.org at $4,500.

The .nets won the extension race with 11 chart entries. The .orgs were next with seven but they really made theirs count, taking three of the top four sales. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, May 1, 2016:
