$15 Million Sale of NFTs.com Blows the Roof Off Latest DNJournal
Charts - Non .Coms Make Some Noise Too
|
After having four-six
figure sales reported in our last
bi-weekly report, I went to bed last night
thinking this week's report would be a relatively quiet one
since no new six-figure sales had been reported over the past
two weeks. When I woke up this morning, everything had
changed with the
news that NFTs.com had been sold for $15
million in the second largest publicly reported domain
sale of all-time
(only Voice.com at $30 million in 2019 has been higher). Of
course, an explosive sale like that makes the kind of noise we
all love to hear as it underscores the value of a great domain
name.

another team of
brokers at GoDaddy.com
to acquire NFTs.com on behalf of an as yet unnamed buyer, with
Escrow.com
also playing in key role in facilitating the landmark sale.
Congratulations are in order for all who helped make it
happen. Even though that
sale obliterated every competitor in its path from a sales
price standpoint, both non .com categories - ccTLDs
and non .com gTLDs - still managed to shine. In fact
ccTLDs took three of the top five spots on our latest
all extension Top 20 Sales Chart and a half dozen
places overall. Their haul included #2 IT.TV, acquired
by Intis Telecom, the owners of IT.com,
for $83,160 with broker Igor
Furdyk handling the acquisition for Intis via Dan.com.
Sedo
then stepped to the plate and hit another one out of the park
with their $80,466 sale of #3 Stuff.it. Braden
Pollock at LegalBrandMarketing
completed the ccTLD power trio in the first five with a $75,000
sale of #4 (tie) Raven.io. Sedo had the other half of
the tie at #4 with their $75,000 sale of Afloat.com.
|
The
non .com gTLDs showed plenty of muscle too, piling up seven
places on the elite list, including four in the top ten, led
by Sedo's $49,000 sale of #6 Wallet.one. Five of
the charted non .com gTLDs wound up in Sedo's column with the
other two going to Swetha.xyz
for her $40,000 sale of #7 Kinetic.xyz and a $20,000
sale of #14 Psychedelic.xyz.
With
the ccTLDs and non .com gTLDs combining to claim 13 chart
entries, this was one of those rare outings where the
.coms did not hold the majority of the leader board. They
had to settle for seven places, including one Alex Verdea
produced through Afternic where he sold #19 (tie) VesselTechnologies.com
for $14,888.
