With
so many sizzling aftermarket domain sales posted in
these early weeks of summer, I know I'm starting to sound like
a broken record. However, in this case that sound is music
to seller's ears. The sales boom continued over the past
two weeks, but one thing was different this time around
the track. While the .coms and .ccTLDs (fueled
by .ai mania) have been rocking the house, the non
.com gTLDs have mostly been wallflowers. They finally
decided to get out on the dance floor this week and did it in
a BIG way - posting that category's top three sales
year to date and five of their top ten!
|

|
That
allowed the leaders from each group to take a high profile
bow on the upper quarter of our latest all extension Top 20
Sales Chart. A 7-figure .com leads the way,
followed by a ccTLD that blew past the half-million
dollar mark and a non .com gTD that landed in mid
six-figures.
Having set the
stage, let's get to the specifics. As we reported in
our Lowdown
section Sunday (July 6), Braden Pollock (LegalBrandMarketing.com)
worked with super broker Andrew Miller (ATM
Holdings/Hilco
Digital) to sell Sword.com for a cool
$1.5 million. David Clements at Brannans.com
(another veteran broker who has been producing stellar results
for the past two decades) represented the unidentified buyer.
Andrew helped Braden sell Fuse.com for over $2.1
million in May which gives Braden two of the year's five
highest publicly reported sales of the year
to date. It also gives Andrew credit for helping
close three of the top four 2025 sales including the #1
sale of Icon.com at $12 million in April.
Meanwhile,
the raging fire in the .ai camp somehow keeps getting hotter. James
Booth at DomainBooth.com
closed a spectacular $600,000 sale of #2 Cloud.ai
in the biggest ccTLD sale reported so far this year.
That was one of five .ai sales to storm the latest chart with
another one also reaching six-figures - Sedo's
€100,000 ($117,000) sale of #5 Mini.ai. While
.ai has dominated the country code spotlight, they haven't
been the only game in town as .co and .io also
had Top 20 sales this week.
As
I noted in the first paragraph, the non .com gTLDs
finally woke from a recent slumber with a performance that
caught everyone's attention. Braden Pollock and another
industry giant, MediaOptions.com
Founder Andrew Rosener deserve most of the credit
for that. In addition to his chart-topping sale of Sword.com,
Braden sold #3 R.org for $375,000 and #6 Forward.org
for $100,000 while Andrew Rosener sold #4 My.bet
through Afternic
for $150,000. Those are the three biggest sales of the
year to date in this category.
|
The chart mix wound up including 8
.coms, 7 ccTLDs and 5 non .com gTLDs - the most
diversified lineup, by far, that we've seen this year. Of
course, the fact that this is so unusual makes it likely
things will come back closer to the norm in the weeks ahead
but it still gives all corners something to celebrate this
time out.
Speaking of ccTLDs - one more
thing to note before we go to the charts. Veteran brokerage
partners Ed Keay-Smith and Rob Kaay at DBR.com.au
made news
in Australia this week by closing a big sale of Apartments.com.au.
While the price wasn't revealed Ed said he thought it would
rank among the five biggest .com.au sales ever which
would put it well into six-figures at the least. We're happy
to see this happen for two of the best people in the business.

Country

The ccTLDs kept the
cash registers ringing over the past couple of weeks with James
Booth's blockbuster $600,000 sale of Cloud.ai leading
the hit parade. There were so many big sales on the extension Top 20
Chart above that a lot of sales that normally would have been in the
spotlight were a bit overshadowed. The Spaceship
SellerHub had some of those, including two in the first
five on our latest Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart - #3 Conduct.ai
at $70,000 and Indent.ai at $48,000.
Also busy was buzzoo.com
with five entries on this chart, led by a $40,000 sale of DVL.co
through Afternic. Sedo and Dynadot also had
multiple entries. Sedo's six winners included that marquee $117,000
sale of #2 Mini.ai.

climb back in the ring with a trio of six-figure sales including the
year's biggest sale to date in this category, the $375,000
