Mommy Makes Six Figures But 8 of the Week's Top 10 Domain Sales Went to 3-Letter .Coms

The value of 3-letter .coms is no secret but that group really flexed their muscles this week, sweeping 8 of the 10 biggest sales on our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart and taking 11 places overall! Even so, just as in real life, nothing could quite compare to Mommy as we saw with Sedo claiming the top spot on the elite list with Mommy.com at $100,000

3-letter .coms then began their charge by capturing the next 3 positions on the Big Board. NameJet, who released all of their top October sales this week, banked $49,100 for #2 XLC.com and another $30,300 for #4 SVG.com. Sandwiched in between was the $35,300 sale of #3 FHL.com by GritBrokerage. NameJet wound up putting seven more 3-letter .coms on the leader board and Sedo posted one as well with #6 OWI.com at $28,999.

The onslaught of 3-letter .coms sales sucked up most of the oxygen in the room en route to helped the .coms corral 16 of the 20 chart entries.

By Ron Jackson

The ccTLDs managed to claw out three spots including a pair of rare .cc sales logged by NameJet - #13 KS.cc at $22,560 and #18 (tie) 837.cc at $15,000. The other charted country code sale went to InformationStart.com where #14 (tie) Strafadvocaten.nl ("criminal defense lawyers" in Dutch) changed hands for $16,843.

That left just one opening for the non .com gTLDs that was claimed by NameJet's $15,200 sale of #17 UnmillenialProject.org. The value of that name appears to be in traffic from a website that previously existed on the domain.

Keep in mind that these are the highest value cash only sales that have been reported to us in the past week. This column is meant to be an educational tool, not a complete list documenting ALL high value domain sales. Such a list is impossible to produce because many sales are kept private at the insistence of buyers, sellers or both. Country Codes

The ccTLDs were led by that trio of five-figure sales you saw on the all extension leader board above with KS.cc setting the pace at $22,560 via NameJet. The highest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #4 on our latest weekly Country Code Top Sales Chart. That is Sedo's $9,500 sale of Raise.co.

NameJet rounded out the first five with #5 Telechargementz.tv at $9,103. Though the top ranked sales drew nice prices, only 12 sales were reported in this group this time around the track.

The extension race wound up in dead heat with five different TLDs claiming two spots apiece. Those included .cc, .co, .eu, .fr. and .es. Here is how the ccTLD leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and others, including new gTLDs)

The non .com gTLDs were led by the lone five-figure sale in this category - UnmilleniumProject.org at $15,200 via NameJet. While this group didn't have a lot of high end sales they did well in overall numbers with more solid four-figure sales reported than we usually see. Most of those came from one source - the .CLUB Registry - who released all of their 3rd quarter premium sales at once. That roster gave them 10 of the 20 entries on on our latest weekly Non .Con gTLD Top 20 Sales Chart.

The .CLUB run started with #2 Slots.club at $8,000 (via GoDaddy) and UFO.club at $7,634 (through Alibaba). WebQuest slipped into the #4 spot with Payroll.services at $6,500 before .CLUB rounded out the first five with Films.club at $6,372 (sold by registrar RegTime Ltd.)

.CLUB won the extension race with the 10 entries I previously noted. The .nets and .orgs tied for the runner-up spot with four chart entries each. Here is how the non .com gTLD leaders stacked up for the two weeks ending Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017:
