.ORG Demonstrates Growing Power - Tops This Week's Sales Chart with $45,999 Sale at SnapNames

It is not often that non .com domains top our weekly all extension Top 20 Domain Sales Chart, but .ORG pulled off the upset this week. In one one the year's ten biggest non .com gTLD sales to date, SnapNames collected $45,999 for GrowingPower.org. In this category that is a surprisingly high price for a domain longer than one word. Only two other two-word non .com gTLDs rank among the group's top 20 sales this year - HorseRacing.net at $60,000 in July and RealEstate.asia at $16,095 in April.

The .orgs also placed a second domain on this week's elite list as NameJet sold #14 (tie) Volunteer.org for $15,000. That domain is a perfect match for the .org extension that is often associated with non-profit sites that promote the public good. A third non .com gTLD was sandwiched between the two .orgs with #6 DR.net, an especially meaningful two-letter domain, attracting $21,100, also via NameJet.

The presence of those domains doesn't mean the .coms were sleeping at the wheel. In fact they took every remaining chart entry, including four of the top five and 18 of 21 places overall (the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position). The $28,500 sale of DynamicInsight.com at Michael Mann's DomainMarket.com led the charge for the .coms. Mann said he originally picked up the domain in 2011 for just $354. The German company that bought it this time already has a company website up on the name.

The first five was rounded out by Uniregistry's sales of EnjoyTravel.com ($25,300) and Veggie.com ($25,000) and NameJet's $23,100 sale of JRU.com. Sedo also helped the .com cause with four charted sales. #7 FreeEnglish.com at $20,700 led their quartet of names.

This was one of those rare weeks where no ccTLDs qualified for the Big Board though, as you will see on the Country Code Top 20 Chart later in this report, the group still had a solid week of sales led by Irish domain Coop.ie at $11,110 via Sedo.

Here's how all of the sales leaders stacked for the week ending Sunday, September 8, 2019:

Country Codes

The ccTLDs had no representatives on the all extension top 20 chart this week but it was still another solid week for this group with Coop.ie leading our latest weekly Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart at $11,110. #2 Portable.tv just missed the five-figure mark with a $9,999 sale at Sedo. Sedo went on to sweep 17 of the 20 chart entries and rounded out the first four with Cyber.cl ($8,250) and Bijenkorf.de ($7,700).

Uniregistry accounted for the two highest sales that escaped Sedo's grasp - Fable.co and Sauna.co - a pair of names that tied for #5 at $7,000 apiece. SnapNames also earned a seat at the ccTLD table with #11 Move.uk at $3,679.

As they often do, Germany's .de easily won the extension race with six chart entries. Otherwise it was a very diverse week with 14 different TLDs represented on the leader board. Here is how the top ccTLD sales stacked up for the week ending Sunday, September 8, 2019:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org and others, including new gTLDs)

The Non .com gTLDs were overdue for a good week and they finally got it with a trio of five-figure sales leading our latest weekly Non .Com gTLD Top Sales Chart. The headliner was that big $45,999 sale of GrowingPower.org that was the biggest sale reported this week, regardless of extension. The highest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is the .GLOBAL Registry's $8,000 sale of #4 Power.global.

The .GLOBAL Registry went on to claim six chart entries overall, a number that was matched by Sedo who rounded out the first five with Sersc.org at $6,250. In addition to six .GLOBAL domains there was one other new gTLD on the honor roll. That was Joy Antony's $1,500 sale of #17 MyHome.store via Uniregistry.
