3-Letter .Coms Continue Reign Taking 3 of the Top 5 Spots on This Week's Domain Sales Chart

I know this is starting to sound like a broken record but 3-letter .coms continue to rock the house. A week after PPP.com topped the chart at $290,000, PAX.com heads this week's all extension Top 20 Sales Chart after Sedo's Dave Evanson brokered a $200,000 sale of that domain. That's not the end of the story either, two more 3-letter .coms reached the first five with Sedo selling #4 RYB.com for $50,000 and #5 BYN.com for $25,300. Flippa.com moved yet another one, fetching $15,000 for #10 FZV.com

It's not just 3-letter names that are attracting big bucks either. Several other categories of short .coms are also strong including numerics and ultra-short numeric/letter combos. Broker Tracy Fogarty, who recently opening her own shop at eNaming.com, showed that with a pair of impressive six-figure sales. She closed a $115,500 sale of #2 H6.com and added another $102,000 for #3 9555.com

By Ron Jackson

The .coms went on to pile up 17 of the 21 chart entries, including all of the top ten (the extra spot resulted from a tie for the final position).  The non .com gTLDs claimed two places with #11 Restaurant.info at $14,300 and #20 (tie) Statistik.org at $6,500 with both sold at Sedo. The ccTLDs also filled two slots led by the $10,000 sale of #14 Fine.me at Brands-and-Jingles.com. Sedo had the second one - #20 (tie) 1.am at $6,500 en route to sweeping 16 entries overall.

Country Codes

The ccTLDS were led by the category's lone five-figure transaction - that Brands-and-Jingles.com sale of Fine.me at $10,000 that you saw on the all extension leader board above. Runner-up 1.am also made the Big Board so the largest sale in this category that you haven't seen yet is #3 on this week's Country Code Top 20 Sales Chart. That is 11.am, a domain that Sedo sold for $6,050.

Sedo rounded out the first five with a pair of Swiss .ch sales that tied for #4. CareForce.ch and Flipkart.ch chalked up $5,500 each. Golem.eu and DomainLore.co.uk also broke the 5K mark. Golem did it with #6 Supporter.eu at $5,445 while DomainLore scored with #7 Stage.co.uk at $5,049.

Switzerland's .ch won the extension race with four chart entries while five other TLDs, .am, .eu, .co.uk, .de and .in each claimed two. Here is how the country code leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, April 26:

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

Like the ccTLDs the Non .Com gTLDs were led by their lone five-figure sale - Restaurant.info at $14,300 via Sedo. That is also one of the 15 biggest sale so far this year in this category. Restaurant.info and #2 Statistik.org both made the all extension leader board you saw earlier so the biggest sale in this group that you haven't seen yet is #3 on this week's Non .Com gTLD Top Sales Chart. That is MIY.org at $4,800 via Sedo.

Rounding out the first five are Sedo's $4,399 sale of #4 Handytarife.org and Flippa's $3,050 sale of PlugIns.net.

The .orgs won the extension race nipping the .nets in total entries 7-6. Here's how all of the Non .Com gTLD leaders stacked up for the week ending Sunday, April 26:
