For the Second Week in a Row the Top Domain Sale Reaches a Half Million Dollars

Even though the domain aftermarket is enjoying a solid year,  half million dollar domain sales aren't something you see every day. In fact prior to last week, only three had breached that barrier in 2015. Now, just a week after QE.com changed hands for $554,000, Give.com rang the half million dollar bell for a 5th time with that name going for $500,000 in a deal handled by Sedo Senior Broker Dave Evanson who has an exceptionally long list of high end sales to his credit.

While there  has been a website on Give.com, the sale was for the domain only. The name has been fully paid for and transferred to Sedo who is now moving it along to the buyer's registrar account.

The .coms went on to sweep every entry on the top half of our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart. LegalBrandMarketing sold runner-up Returns.com for $65,000 while eNaming.com filled the #3 slot with L4.com at $64,000. Sedo rounded out the first five with Float.com at $50,000 and LRZ.com at $46,000 en route to piling up nine chart entries overall.

By Ron Jackson

LegalBrandMaketing scored twice more, teaming up with John Daly at NameConnect.com to sell #7 CoWorker.com for $27,500 and with DomainNameSales to find #10 FareApp.com a new home at $23,000.

AlanAdlari.com also made a strong showing with four charted sales led by #6 Hamilelik.com at $36,000. Chart honors also went to DomainMarket.com for their $25,000 sale of #8 PiuPiu.com and to Hobi Michalec at DomainHoldings who worked with Justin Murgo at BuyDomains.com to move #9 SmartREIT.com for $24,000.

The .coms took 17 of 20 chart entries overall with ccTLDs claiming all three of the remaining positions, leaving the non .com gTLDs out in the cold. #11 Links.co led the country codes after changing hands for $18,196 in a private transaction.

Non .com gTLDs (.net, .org, .biz, .info & others, including new gTLDs)

Things remained sluggish among the non .com gTLDs this week with none reaching five figures, or even crossing the $5,000 mark. Cornhole.org led our latest weekly Non .Com gTLD Top Sales Chart with a $4,400 sale at Sedo who booked all 17 charted sales. Possible.net was next at $3,930 and Pizza.info rounded out the first three at $3,190.

The .orgs easily won the extension race with eight charted sales - double the four posted by .net. There was also a sprinkling of new gTLDs with two .global domains and one .church.
